The Immigration Response Group is transforming the way immigration legal services are delivered, combining innovation, expertise, and strategic partnerships to create scalable solutions that meet the growing needs of communities across the United States. Founded to address significant gaps in immigration legal capacity, ImmRG focuses on leveraging technology and collaboration to make the legal process more efficient and accessible for clients and the organizations that serve them.
The project was born from a critical need to adapt to unprecedented surges in immigration-related demand, particularly during times of crisis. Traditional models, reliant on high-touch, resource-intensive methods, struggled to keep pace. ImmRG’s founders, Brandon Roche, an immigration attorney, and Kerri Drumm, a non-profit consultant, envisioned a new approach that prioritizes efficiency and leverages the unique knowledge and skills of immigration attorneys and community-based organizations. By working across sectors, ImmRG has created a system that bridges the gap between need and capacity.
Central to ImmRG’s strategy is technology to streamline legal processes. This includes digital platforms that enable low-bono attorneys to prepare immigration applications virtually, eliminating the need for costly in-person consultations. The process integrates seamlessly with nonprofit partners, who identify eligible clients and collect necessary information, and with government agencies, ensuring expedited submission and review. These advancements not only reduce the time and cost of providing legal services but also make them accessible to those who might otherwise be left behind.
Collaboration is essential to making this project work. The challenges of immigration demand are too vast for any organization to tackle alone. ImmRG’s success depends on fostering partnerships across sectors, bringing together the expertise and resources of nonprofits, philanthropy, government, and the legal field. By creating a shared commitment to supporting immigrant communities, ImmRG ensures solutions are effective and sustainable. These collaborations also build trust and capacity within the system, enabling more comprehensive support for those in need.
